Telstra signs agreement with Metronode to sell its data centre solutions
Australia’s number one data centre company, Metronode, has recently signed an agreement enabling Telstra’s business customers to access services at its 10 Australian data facilities in seven cities.
Under the agreement, Telstra customers will be able to order Metronode colocation services and place it on their Telstra Bill. The agreement with Telstra highlights Metronode’s carrier neutral market position.
CEO David Yuile said the agreement provided Metronode significant national reach across all segments of the market as well as the opportunity to host Telstra’s private cloud solutions.
“Metronode’s high-density, cloud-ready facilities are specifically designed and built to effectively and efficiently house today’s and tomorrow’s private cloud demands.
“Customers are not constrained by traditional data centre engineering and don’t need to re-design their cloud infrastructure when they move their critical applications to Metronode’s next generation data centres,” Mr Yuile said.
“This agreement gives Telstra customers more choice to effectively deploy hybrid cloud solutions, using Telstra private cloud and colocation on Telstra’s network.”
Michael Riad, Director of Cloud Services, Global Products and Solutions, Telstra, said, “Our customers want choice and flexibility, so this agreement with Metronode means they now have more options for collocation services through Telstra. Telstra’s customers have access to a complete range of connectivity solutions at competitive prices into nominated data centres across Australia, including Metronode’s 10 Australian data centres.”
Metronode’s next generation facilities are Australia’s most energy efficient, significantly reducing the cost of ownership. With a track record of 12+ years of zero downtime, Tier III accreditation and ISO 27001:2013 certification, Metronode will add another data centre in Canberra to its capability in September 2015.
