The advent of software as a service and other virtualisation trends has and will continue to exponentially drive the requirement for data centre capacity. Similarly, enterprise and government, financial services and IT&T continue to witness growth in the demand for space. In order to meet both current and future demand, it is an absolute priority for data centre solutions to be scalable, dynamic and responsive to capacity.
The Metronode data centre solution employs scalable technology including the BladeRoom, which can accommodate any scale from a starting point as small as 10 racks. The system can be used to unlock the potential in sites that have been left dormant for fear of upfront capital costs.
BladeRoom scalable data centres comprise a series of standardised IT rooms with scalable Air Optimisers and power management rooms. Delivering additional IT rooms, Air Optimisers and power management rooms can incrementally increase the size and capacity of the facility. BladeRoom data centres can seamlessly cope with a range of densities from 1kW to well in excess of 24kW per rack. The servers can be loaded in excess of 24kW per rack, and the BladeRoom control system will automatically provide the right amount of cooling to where it is needed. Ultimately, this allows growth of the data centre in line with the growth profile of the business, without needing to spend money until the point where expansion is required.
