Resilience is the degree to which a data centre is protected against failure. Metronode has proven the reliability of its data centre operations with a perfect uptime history, and has applied this experience to the design of next generation data centres which can be configured to Tier 3 or 4 resilience meeting full Uptime Institute specifications.

Both primary and backup cooling systems use ambient and evaporative cooling for up to 100% of the time depending on the climate, maximising the efficiency of Metronode data centres. N+1 back-up mechanical DX cooling ensures compliance with the Uptime Institute Tier 3 requirements, and Tier 4 compliance can be achieved by system duplication. An integrated VESDA system detects any external or internal airborne contaminants and initiates protective measures before they become a risk to IT and if necessary activate the server room fire suppression.
