Malcolm Roe
General Manager
Malcolm has more than 28 years of experience in the ICT industry. His broad experience in the Australian and New Zealand carrier and service provider market includes network infrastructure project development; finance structuring; global telecommunication teaming contracts; and the establishment of regional sales, marketing and support operations. Malcolm was previously group manager business development for the telecommunications division where he was responsible for securing a number of significant telecommunications infrastructure projects. In 2010 alone these projects were valued in excess of $450 million. Prior to joining Leighton he spent 20 years in senior management and sales roles with leading telecommunications and data communications manufacturers. This period included five years based in the UK to manage a Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Ian Macalpine
Head of Delivery
Ian has over 30 years of experience in the IT industry including extensive data centres experience.
From 2007 to 2011 Ian was Head of Infrastructure Services at Woolworths Limited, where he was responsible for data centres, IT infrastructure and networks. At Woolworths he was accountable for the development and delivery of a new corporate data centre located at Eastern Creek in Western Sydney, the upgrade and expansion of Woolworths other major data centres. Prior to joining Woolworths Ian spent 10 years at Macquarie Group in a variety of senior roles, and was responsible for establishing Macquarie’s data centre at Rhodes, including all aspects of commissioning and relocating to that new facility. Ian’s early career included a period in the RAN (studying Electrical Engineering) and 11 ½ years with Mercantile Mutual.
Jonathan Buchanan
Head of Sales & Marketing
Jonathan has over 15 years of sales and marketing experience in the data centre industry.
Prior to joining Metronode Jonathan was a senior Business Development Manager for Schneider Electric IT in Australia, developing new business across a broad range of industries. A graduate of the University of Greenwich Business School in London, Jonathan has held a number of national and regional roles with APC spanning Europe, North America and Asia. Primarily focused on new business development, Jonathan also has extensive experience in account management, channel management and team management.
Lee-Anne Wilson
Head of Finance
Lee-Anne has over ten years professional experience as a corporate accountant and finance executive across the professional services, utilities and property industries. Completing a business degree and a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting, Lee-Anne is a qualified Chartered Accounting with a broad range of experience including supporting financing and structuring negotiations in mergers and acquisitions, drafting transactional documentation and business planning, forecasting and financial analysis. Lee-Anne has held senior positions with Centro Properties Group before joining the Leighton group of companies in early 2012 in her role as Head of Finance at Metronode.
Michael Juniper
Head of Commercial
Michael has over ten years professional experience as a commercial manager and corporate lawyer within the telecommunications industry. Completing a commerce degree and Juris Doctor with Honours, Michael has held senior positions within Telstra and Norton Rose before joining the Leighton group of companies. As a corporate lawyer, Michael has managed a broad variety of transactions and special projects involving mergers, acquisitions, takeovers and capital raisings. Michael is also experienced in the negotiation and drafting of a wide variety of commercial contracts, providing legal counsel in respect of consumer protection laws, trade practices, advertising and promotions, and various intellectual property issues. Today, Michael combines sound business acumen with strong legal and financial skills in his role as Head of Commercial at Metronode.
Michael Kalny
Head of Engineering
Michael has over 30 years professional experience in the telecommunications industry and has significant depth of experience spanning design, engineering, technical, operational and managerial disciplines associated with data centres and transmission systems. Now 10 years with Visionstream and Head of Engineering in Metronode, Michael is responsible for system design of Metronode’s new generation BladeRoom data centre facilities.
